Due to the flooding in Sistan and Balouchestan province, NAK colleagues are still working to address the issues and sustainability of the MCI mobile network in flooded areas.

The report states that the technical services provided by NAK colleagues in flooded areas of Sistan and Baluchestan province consist of planning, equipping and providing well informed staff. It also includes the dispatching of technical teams of experts and subcontractors, supplying and delivering required equipment including Diesel Generators, Modules, Rectifiers, & Batteries. Activities further include the provisioning of Satellite Link Equipment, Assisting in the Fiber Intervention and troubleshooting the Inter-provincial Fiber in remote areas. Furthermore, Installing Alternative or Backup Links in Several Available Sites, troubleshooting power problems and replacing Damaged Units, and Installing Rectifiers and Batteries for more than 20 designated sites. These activities will continue till the network problems have been fully resolved.

It is worth mentioning that following the flooding, more than 300 sites have been reported down in the affected areas. Through our colleagues’ daily efforts, dedicated work and the belief in their expertise and abilities they have been able to reduce this number to less than 7 sites within a few days. This reflects their high ambition in carrying out their assigned tasks and duties in order to promote social responsibility and facilitate communication in the flooded areas of Sistan and Baluchistan.
